Each week now will be some fascinating bits of what's going on in our life in North East, along with some new food that we've dug up as we are eating a much more healthy plate and bored of what we are eating.
Since I like the food more than I like the snow these days, I'll talk about that. Tuesday night I baked. And not just some dish in a casserole - I baked bread. In this day of processed food where if you are on the go as much as we are, kids seem to take for granted where food comes from.
Bread comes from the store. In a plastic or paper bag.
So, last night when I started this, honestly the kids had no clue what I was making. It was a little sad and funny at the same time with them each offering up what they thought I was making.
Emma was the first to get it right. She's quick. Abigail I really had to try to get through to her that it was dough. She finally got it after such gems as "eggs(!)," "cookies (close)" and "a mess(true)."
Bailey - she had literally no clue when it came to what it was and finally walks in and says bread. She was embarrassed that it took her that long.
But, it was pretty easy to whip up and it turned out pretty dang good. Made 3 loaves and there's one left. Here's a sexy, low-light picture of one of them:
On the kid front - Abigail had a boy over! Yeah, being a father of three girls, the *last* one that I thought would have a boy over would be Abigail.
The best part of this is that he was her 2nd choice as far as boys go. So, with the air a brisk 15 degrees yesterday, they tore the yard up. We've got a good foot of snow right now, so the kids love it.
Oh, and by the way, here's the back yard before Sammy & Dockers tore it up chasing each other around. Looks pretty good back there.
Well, I'm sticking to my guns as far as the blogging goes - maybe I'll even throw in a weekend update.
