too long
You know that you need to blog when your wife, who doesn't know anything outside of a blog other than yours, tells you you need to update your site. Well, seems that I'm falling into the proverbial blogging pitfall. Not updating nearly enough as I should.
We're all human.
But I'm going to try to make up for lost time.
I guess to go back a bit to when I first strayed from the path of a prompt and courteous blogger, I went out to the City of Brotherly Love - Philadelphia.
This was the week of May 12th - and on the way out there, I drove through a blizzard:
Yeah, I really couldn't belive it either... driving along, was that a snowflake? Nah, huh, there's more. Yep, snow.
At the high point, there was about 1" of snow on the ground, wrecks all over. Good times.
Made it out there and saw Em, Jer, Norah & Flynn. As Flynn was trying to go to sleep, I decided to relax, drink a beer and hang out with Norah.
She wasn't too keen on that really. Her other uncles were there also, and she's more comfortable with them.
Hit up the Phillies game while we were out there also. That was a good time. First time at the park there, and our seats were great, food and drink were great. Phillies won also. Guess you can't have everything. (Thanks Dave!)

and finally
just got this from mark who got it from his brother, chad:
"I convinced HR to show the Leeroy Jenkins video to recent-grad hires as an example of why you should stick to plan. I'm awesome."
he is!

oh, mexico!
you've given us alot, and to this i'm truly thankful.
mexican food.
mexican beer.
tequila.
awesome weather.
did I mention tequila?
how about cinco de mayo?
it's an opportunity to take everything above (well, the weather needs to cooperate) and put it all together into one ginormus festival.
we managed to get together with great friends of ours this past weekend for what ended up being our home away from home.
first off - our gracious hosts of the weekend opened up their doors to us on Friday night for a pre-party that turned out to be quite enjoyable - it was a precursor to the long day ahead.
this was the beginning - we started off by drinking. and cooking - but just enough for 10 x the people that showed up! it was a lot of food - but we did manage quite all right. some minor disasters - like a blender that, well, sucked:
how are you supposed to make frozen margarita's with a blender that don't work?
exactly. cue the beer.
even the kids thought that the blender fiasco was funny. the thing about kids, is that if they get along, and these ones did, they'll amuse themselves and stay out of your hair.
now, generally, when you are a courteous guest, and you offer to come by the next day to help with either prep work or cleanup duty, the hosts *will* say no - it's all right - all under control.
not so much. armed with a super early appointment to now help out, I rounded up the kids and went back to make enchiladas. a lot of them. all said and done, we cranked through over 200 corn tortillas and enough enchilada sauce to bath a chihuahua.
couple other pictures from the festivities that night
good times. as usual - you can click on the pictures above to get to even more pictures.
and finally - to all my Philly freinds..... you don't want any of this. trust me.
it's like children of the corn
but without death. and corn. so it's really not like it. but, it is creepy.
that's was my one thought I had when I posted the earlier picture.
i've got more, but you'll have to wait.
